Subio Privacy Policy

Last updated June 17, 2026

Subio (“the app”, “we”, “us”) helps you keep track of your recurring subscriptions and upcoming renewals. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it’s used, and the choices you have. By using Subio, you agree to the practices described here.

01Information We Collect

Account information

When you sign in with Google, we receive basic account details (your name, email address, and profile photo) through Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication, used to create and secure your account.

Gmail data

With your explicit permission, Subio accesses your Gmail messages using the read-only scope (gmail.readonly) for the sole purpose of detecting subscription and billing emails and extracting details such as the service name, price, and renewal date. To perform this extraction, the relevant email content is sent to Google’s Gemini API.

Limited Use disclosure. Subio’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Gmail data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not transfer it to others except as necessary to provide the subscription-detection feature, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition. We do not allow humans to read your email data unless we have your consent for specific messages, it is necessary for security purposes (such as investigating abuse), to comply with applicable law, or our use is limited to internal operations with aggregated, anonymized data.

Subscription data

Subscriptions you add manually or that are detected from Gmail are stored locally on your device, in the app’s database. This data stays on your device.

App preferences

Settings such as your chosen theme, currency, and notification timing are stored locally on your device.

Crash & diagnostic data

In released versions, the app uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic logs so we can fix bugs and improve stability.

Advertising

Subio displays ads through Google AdMob, which may collect and use a device advertising identifier and related data to serve and measure ads, in accordance with Google’s policies.

02How We Use Your Information

03Third-Party Services

Subio relies on the following services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

04Data Retention & Deletion

Subscription data and preferences live on your device and are removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app, which signs you out and removes your authentication record. To revoke Subio’s access to your Gmail account, visit your Google Account permissions page.

05Data Security

All network traffic uses encrypted HTTPS connections. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

06Children’s Privacy

Subio is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

07Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
