PlanTask Privacy Policy
PlanTask (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a collaborative task and project manager that lets you organize your work and share projects with friends. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it’s used, and the choices you have. By using PlanTask, you agree to the practices described here.
01Information We Collect
Account information
To use PlanTask you create an account. When you register with email, or sign in with Google, we receive basic account details — such as your name, email address, and (where provided) profile photo — through Firebase Authentication and Google Sign-In. This is used to create, identify, and secure your account.
Tasks & projects
The tasks, projects, titles, descriptions, due dates, and completion status you create are stored in our cloud database (Google Firebase) so they stay in sync and can be shared with people you collaborate with.
Friends & collaboration
When you add a friend or share a project, we store the connection between your accounts and the membership of shared projects so collaborators can see and update shared tasks. People you share a project with can see your name, profile, and your activity within that shared project.
Notifications
With your permission, PlanTask sends notifications about reminders, friend requests, and project updates. To deliver these, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging, which relies on a device messaging token.
Crash & diagnostic data
The app may collect crash reports and basic diagnostic information through Firebase to help us fix bugs and improve stability.
02How We Use Your Information
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To store, sync, and display your tasks and projects across sessions and devices.
- To enable collaboration — friend requests and shared projects.
- To send reminders and notifications you’ve opted into.
- To diagnose problems and improve the app.
03How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information. Your data is shared only:
- With other users you explicitly collaborate with, limited to the shared projects and the profile details needed to collaborate.
- With service providers (see below) that operate the app’s infrastructure.
- Where required to comply with applicable law.

05Data Retention & Deletion
We keep your account and content while your account is active. You can delete individual tasks and projects at any time within the app. To delete your account and associated data, use the account option in the app or reach out through our contact form, and we will remove your account data, subject to any retention required by law. You can also revoke Google Sign-In access from your Google Account permissions page.
06Data Security
All network traffic uses encrypted HTTPS connections, and data is stored on Google’s secure infrastructure. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
07Children’s Privacy
PlanTask is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
08Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
